Itinerary Overview

The Classic Myanmar Tour

Day 01: Yangon

 Arrival at Yangon International Airport, you will be welcomed by our tour guide and transfer to your hotel. After a brief fresh up continue Half day Yangon City orientation tour with its faded colonial atmosphere and visit the most significant Shwedagon Pagoda. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 02: Bagan

Early morning transfer to Yangon domestic airport for your bound flight to Bagan. After hotel check in and a brief fresh up, your days begin exploring the ancient city Bagan with thousands of temples and pagodas. The sunset at the ancient site is amazing! Overnight in Bagan.


Day 03: Bagan

After breakfast, drive to Mt Popa passing through toddy palm forest. Mount Popa is an extinct volcano that is believed to be home to the “nats “, ancient Burmese animist spirits. Climb to the top for stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Late afternoon, drive back to Bagan, continue sightseeing Temples & Pagodas and villages. Overnight in Bagan.

Day 04: Bagan-Pakkou-Monywa

Breakfast at hotel and we will leave Bagan in the morning, taking private local boat to Pakkou across Ayeyarwaddy River. The boat ride is about 3 hours gazing and looking all types of local boats along the river. Pakkaou is famous for tobacco trading center and blanket weaving. After visiting around open market, about 4 hour drive to the town Monywa. Overnight in Monywa.


Day 05: Monywa – Mandalay

After breakfast, we will explore Monywa tour, the capital of Sagaing Division, highlights include: Drive across the bridge over Chindwin River to visit a sandstone cave system in the Po Win Hills, named after a famous ‘Zawgyi’ (alchemist) who once lived here. The Caves of Po Win Daung, numbering more than one hundred, are full of Buddhist statues and murals.  We will visit famous Mohnyin Thanboddhay Pagoda, Bohti Tataung Pagoda. Afer that proceed to Mandalay. Drive is about 4 hours. Overnight in Mandalay.

Day 06: Mandalay – Amarapura

Full day sightseeing in Mandalay! Highlights include: visiting most sacred Buddha image in Myanmar, Golden Palace Monastery famous for wood cravings, Kuthodaw Pagoda which is known as the world largest book due to the Buddhist scripture carved on 729 marble slabs. Then we will visit before sunset to U Being Bridge, old teak bridge , which is most photographic site in Myanmar. Overnight in Mandalay.

Day 07: Mandalay – Mingun – Sagaing

After breakfast, we drive to the jetty. Before taking boat we will visit Zay Cho vegetable market. Board on your boat and travel upstream on the Ayeyarwady River from Mandalay to Mingun (11 km, about one hour). Visit the Mingun Bell, 87 tons is the world’s largest intact bronze bell.  Vist Ava and cross the Ayeyawaddy River over Ava Bridge and visit Sagaing hill, home of about six hundred Monasteries. We will explore Silverware cottage industry, clay pot making and a visit Nunnery. Watch the sunset from the top of Sagaing Hill. Drive back to Mandalay. Overnight in Mandalay.


Day 08: Mandalay – Heho – Pindaya –  Kalaw

Morning flight to Heho, then about an hour drive to  visit famous Pindaya Cave and surroundings.  The drive to Kalaw approximately 1 hour, a former British colonial hill station town in pine clad mountains. The hills, mountains, and local villages show a rural side of the country that is very different from cities. Overnight in Kalaw.

Day 09: Kalaw – Inle Lake

After breakfast scenic drive across the Shan Plateau to NyaungShwe, the gate way to the lake Inle. After check in the hotel, enjoy full day private boat sightseeing exploring the religious sites, and amazing local handicraft, lotus weaving, traditional blacksmith method. Rest and relax in floating hotel.

Day 10: Inle Lake – Indeing Ruins

Continue sightseeing the lake, board on boat to explore across the lake by passing leg rowing fisherman, floating garden and floating villages. We will visit the ancient Indeing village, with its complex of ancient shrines and stupas. Overnight in Inle Lake.

Day 11: Inle Lake – Yangon

Morning flight back to Yangon. Enjoy visit to Scott Market, the market you will find whole variety of interesting souvenirs, gems and jewelry. Highlights include: Sule Pagoday, visit little India and China town. Enjoy the excursion. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 12: Departure

Breakfast at hotel. Day at leisure until transfer to airport for International departure flight.
