When you ask someone about Myanmar or talking about Myanmar, people might just remember or say golden pagodas, ancient temples, misty mountains, tribal and ethnic, rich cultures. In fact, Myanmar has over two thousand kilometers of coastline with many unspoiled beaches.

1. Ngapali Beach

It’s been named one of the most beautiful beach in South East Aisa, in fact some state that it is the most beautiful in Asia. It is easy to understand why it is the most beautiful and famous that the beach stretches about 3 km with soft white sand fringed by coconut palms. The easiest way to access Ngapali is by flight which take about 45 minutes from Yangon to get Thandawe Airport and further 15 minutes’ drive to the beautiful beach. The activities of Snorkeling, fishing, cycling, kayaking, golf and hiking in the mountains nearby, are the opportunities!

2. Ngwe Saung Beach

The white sands of Myanmar, Ngwe Saung Beach stretches for miles located south of Ngapali beach. The beach is 5 hours’ drive away from Yangon and it can be accessed by private car or bus. This unspoiled pollution free silvery sand, crystal-clear blue water with modern amenities, believe or not this beach is still less known to tourists and isn’t as developed, making it an ideal place for relaxing as Ngapali yet. But still when you have had enough of lying on the beach, there’s scuba diving, snorkeling to enjoy your day.

3. Chaug Tha Beach

Last but not least, another good choice is Chaung Tha Beach, is about 6hr drive from Yangon. It’s not as beauty as Ngapali and Ngwe Saung, but it’s hugely popular among locals, especially on weekends and holidays, busy and full with fireworks, football games, and other local favorites. But, for the beach with best local feel Chaung Tha is the best. To seek out a little more seclusion here, you can head north to the quieter end of the beach. Also you can take a boat out to Whitesand Island. The trip takes around an hour and there are good opportunities for swimming and snorkeling.
